This 9th book in the series is a heart tugging sexy read. I loved that we have been following Wyatt's growth from an adorable pup to a sexy young man. This is one of the reasons I love this series. It did not stop with 4 or 5 books. It keeps growing and evolving like the greatest soap opera or your favorite TV series. I also love that it is not just one story line. There are a bunch of them and they flow seamlessly in the background while an amazing love story unfolds in front of you.Wyatt Quinton is a born werewolf. When he was 7 and there was trouble from another pack, a white wolf covered his scent and protected him. He knew it was his mate, but his family tried to convince him it wasn't. He thought he was going crazy at times.
Preston Dalton was ignored and mistreated by his parents for being gay. He ran around with his two friends who were in the same boat. One night when they were 11 or 12, they went to a party. They got drunk and passed out and when they awoke, some older guys were trying to rape them. They fought, but then their attackers shifted and bit them. Once they were turned, they ran away and ended up joining Carson's pack. When he was 13, he protected Wyatt, and found his mate.
When Wyatt turned 18, Preston was going to let Wyatt know they were mates. He had kept it a secret because he was so much older and he couldn't be around because he needed to let Wyatt become an adult because he could not stomach the sexual thoughts he had for the younger man. But when he went to tell him, Wyatt was with Sebastian. So he waited until Wyatt got in trouble because of his boyfriend and was sentenced to working at the firehouse under him. Yes, I loved it.yes I'm hooked. Yes I'll buy the whole series. My husband is on his death bed and reading.has been my escape from my terrible reality. He is homophobic, and hates that I have a gay best friend. If I was younger and he was bi or straight we would be "mated". As it our love is pure a d he is my soul mate friend. I love you Eddie. Read this series everyone. It's so great.
The characters in these books are so well written and plot in these books ROCKS. Its got everything you'd want in a book, drama, laugh, cries, sexy, danger and more. You get to hear/read from both sides of the characters, which I love. The sex scenes in these books ROCKS there one of the best ). You get so sucked into the book it feels like your really their and you dont wanna put down the book til the end. Your rooting for everyone to make a happy ending, but some times you wanna hit them too for doing dumb things. Awesome book worth the buy.
I have been waiting for Wyatt and Preston's story since the first book of this series. Sandrine did not disappoint. This pair has been mated since birth but when one mate is 7 years younger, Preston has to wait till Wyatt is of age. Every one has told Wyatt that he imagined his mate when he was younger and then to find out they lied, is more than earth shattering. But when his mate is a life or death situation, Wyatt realizes that no matter what he is in love with Preston.
The biggest "PRO" this book has going for it is that, even though it follows the author's (now somewhat tedious) formula for the books in this series, there's enough of a twist in the plotline to keep it interesting. That said, now 9 books in, we as the reader know, before we read the first page, how things are going to turn out. Boy/Wolf-1 meets boy/wolf-2, boy/wolf-1 realizes boy/wolf-2 is his mate, both boys/wolves have page after page pre-scripted (and only slightly interesting) sex, one boy/wolf ask the other to marry him...and scene.
The most interesting thing about "An Ignited Passion" that makes it stand out from the other series installments is that we've been able to follow Wyatt's growth from a child to a college student. It's also quite captivating to see Preston's approach to dealing with the fact that the child he was mated to has grown up...and how he introduces himself into Wyatt's life (finally).
This is a solid 3-star addition to the series and I would recommend to fans who've read the previous books.
Engaging characters and well described setting. The story flowed well and was an easy fast read. However I felt the ending let it down as the conflict with a character who was set up to be the 'bad guy' was resolved too easily and suddenly he wasn't so bad afterall, and then the whole family was gay, which IMO is a little unrealistic. An enjoyable read, despite that.
I have read every book in this series so far and liked every single one, including this one. Part of why I like this series so much is the authors writing style. The author does a great job at making a very well rounded book that includes all the areas of development listed above. The characters are also well rounded, although there were a few questions I had regarding characterization in this book which is why I rated it a 9. The paranormal activity in this book, altough toned down some, never fails to make me forget real life will I was reading it. Although I would have like a bit more discription during some of the settings, the fire station setting was well written. The plot was connected to another story in the series, which I have read, however if a reader was just wanted to read this book only the plot may leave them a bit confused. The plot did develop at a nice pace though. Can't wait for Nik's story!
